What’s service advisor training and why should you consider investing in it? One sharp advantage is that with a good service advisor you can see an increase in sales made through the business. Plus you can actually gain more customers if your service advisor knows what to do!

The premise is simple. A customer comes in for service, they receive superior than normal service, and they then share that information with friends. Whenever that other person needs service, you will have them come to your company. With the training of your service advisor you can ensure those customers always get the ideal service.

Most companies just don’t realize how important that position can be to their company. In fact, for many years the service advisor was basically ignored when it came to training. That’s because they were seen as a part of the business that wasn’t very important, more the person who only took the orders. That has never been the case and today, even less so.

Since a service advisor was only seen as a person who would take orders and nothing else, there were a lot of sales that could have been lost. With a well-trained advisor you will find you can also gain a salesperson in that position. One who will see you earning more profits, and enjoying more business.

There are situations in which a trained service advisor will be able to discuss more service with the customers that come in. Getting them something else besides what they’d come into to buy. But it will also help the customer out, and they will appreciate that too.

A lot of people are not a natural salesperson, however, so they need training to learn that job. That’s a thing that can be learned through the training of your service advisor. One that might cost you a bit of money, but will also earn you more money in sales when they know how to do it.

Also, they will learn the three different customer types who will normally be dealt with and how to handle them. This would include the customer who is only calling for prices or information. These are the people who are hoping that they don’t need any service on their automobile.

Your business will get calls in from people who are just trying to compare prices and maybe find out what’s wrong with their vehicle. That trained service advisor will be one who can get them to come in and have their vehicle looked at, selling them the service once they get there, and possibly more than that!

They may just be calling to see if it’s a repair they’ll be able to do themselves. A trained service advisor will be one who can talk them into coming to the business, getting that checkup and getting the service all done at your business.

Or even the customer whose vehicle is already in the shop. Both of these people with a good Service advisor trainer will benefit and so will you. Giving them the information and Automotive service training, and being able to sell it to them increases your profits and their satisfaction.
