Purple Heart Donations Impact The Lives of People In Need Donations Make A Major Difference
posted in Car Donations |Even though times are tough, always remember there are individuals worse off then us. While there are so many of us developing ways to penny pinch and decrease spending.
Some of us don’t remember how exhilarating it is to do good.
While being absolutely focused on our own problems and misfortunes, Americans appear to overlook the value of doing a good deed. This kind of selfishness sometimes leads to longer trials and tribulations on our own part. Sometimes by not focusing on the things that we don’t have, and instead thinking about those that have far less then we do. You can actually position yourself to receive a blessing faster, by not doing this.
One things for sure, focusing on the bills that you do have won’t get that debt paid any faster (payday
is on Friday no matter how much you think about that check Mon-Thur). I can promise you worrying want help, that bill will still have the same due date, no matter how much you thing about it. You must know that rent is still due on the first, no matter how many days you spent thinking about not having it. We can not prolong the due date of that bill, regardless of how much we think about it. What if, you focused on doing a good deed instead; For example, gathering up a bunch of clothes that you’re never going to wear again. Or cleaning out the shed and getting rid of all the clothing or furniture that have been messing it up for the eons. Now you’re still going to get paid at the exact same day and time that you always do, but I’ve a sneaky suspicion that the week will seem to
go by a lot quicker in your mind then if you spent all week worrying.
Recently I was able to not only achieve this feeling but to also surpass it by making a charitable automobile donation. After to long of talking about how much it was costing me to
drive my big vehicleto work everyday. I decided that; not only wasn’t going to bellyache about it at all, but I was also going to do some research about
donating my that old work truck of mine that hadn’t moved in a few years.
So I spent the first 2 days web surfing I settled in on a used automobile donation program that helped domestic abuse families, special needs kids, and urban youth. I ran through a check list of things to check for. I’ll share a brief summary of them here.
1. Is this a licensed charity.
a. check to make sure they’re registered to receive a charitable vehicle donation and listed as having a 501 (c) (3) status
b. check with your Better Business Agency to make sure they’re on the books.
c. How long have they been established. (the longer the better, scams are usually short lived).
2. Donate directly to the charity. This makes sure some middle-man isn’t slicing into your donation.
3. Cover yourself legally by knowing the tax write-off amendments.
a. If your automobile is valued less than $500 dollars you can claim up to $500
b. If your vehicle is valued at more and goes to auction, you can claim the exact amount that it’s sold at auction. (they will provide you with the appropriate receipt from the auction)
After all was stated and done, I made my used car donation, they came and towed it with in 48hrs. I got all the legal paperwork, and to my surprise I received a $1000 gift voucher (for top restaurants or groceries). I was so pleased that I finished forgot about how much gas was costing mainly because I was able to receive discounts for food.. The cash I saved that week and many weeks, will
cancel out my gas expenses for the rest of the year. That’s why I recommend you guys at least think
about vehicle donation.
